Words from the Creators of the Leo and Fadi Method
After creating the Leo and Fadi reading method, we felt immense joy seeing over nine hundred children learn to read step by step, ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّٰهِ. However, our satisfaction was incomplete. While the children acquired essential skills, they needed books to proudly apply their new knowledge. Unfortunately, the early reading materials available on the market did not meet our expectations as Muslim parents.
So, we decided to create our own accessible and inclusive resources for our children and the ummah! Our stories are drawn from our reality and inspired by children’s interests. This is how the collection “My First Readings with Leo and Fadi” was born-a series of books that children (and parents) around the world can immerse themselves in with pride, as they reflect our values.
Whether your children are young or old, typical, or neurodivergent, beginner readers or already experts, at Pazapa Editions, we want every family to experience Islam daily through kind-hearted stories that touch the heart. At what age can my child start reading books from this collection?
At Pazapa Éditions, it’s not the age that matters, but the child’s reading skills. If your child has learned to read using the Leo and Fadi method from the age of three, they can begin reading this first collection starting at around 4 or 4.5 years old, depending on their reading level.
Which level should I choose for my child's first readings?
The collection offers three difficulty levels tailored to your child’s reading skills. Level 1 corresponds to the skills typically acquired by the middle of the first grade (CP). Choose the level based on your child’s mastery to best support their learning journey!
How long does it take for my child to master a level?
We encourage a practice of 15 minutes a day, as rereading stories helps to increase fluency. However, it is important to monitor your child’s progress to ensure that reading sessions are always appropriately challenging (neither too simple nor too difficult), allowing them to progress smoothly. You can access personalized and unlimited advice from the authors by joining the private WhatsApp group reserved for holders of the “My First Readings with Leo and Fadi” collection.
Are the stories suitable for children with specific needs (DYS, ADHD, etc.)?
Yes, the stories are adapted for children with DYS and ADHD. They feature texts designed to be accessible to all, with colorful illustrations, a clear layout, and a font, size that are appropriate for young readers. Additionally, silent letters are highlighted in gray to aid comprehension.
